twenty-one is...

fantastic. Like midnight pancakes, friends, an amazing necklace, a birthday skirt, a yoga ball, a pilates mat, recycled tie and belt bracelets, new earrings, and Last Thursday.

Thanks to everyone who loved me yesterday!

Only my lack of a camera prevents the pictures. If I did have them, though, they would not be as full-of-scandal-ness as one might assume. Unless it's scandalous for four ridiculously beautiful brunettes wearing jean jackets to be out in public.

worth writing...

So what, may you ask, has caused Emily to stop her xanga frivolity and finally write something worthy of blogspot?

Two great and glorious things, actually: stamps and shoes.

First of all, there are Superheroes. on stamps. [and, just to be pc, they added in supergirl] That is one of the best ideas ever. Now, with every letter you mail, the world be a more colorful place full of truth, goodwill, and the-bad-guys-always-loose-in-the-enders. And we could all use a little bit of that right now, don't you think? Besides, don't you think that with Hawkman on the job, your mail will likely arrive at it's destination all the sooner? [more soon?] I am going to write letters this week. Aaaaafter I finish that Spanish homework, which I have been ignoring in pursuit of honor and glory and admiration. [or maybe watching movies and goofing off with people]

Second of all, my brown Aspen Crocs arrived in the mail today. Even after only one evening of wear, I'm completely addicted. Please note that these look far better than the ones with the holes, but you can only order them online. It's definitely worth it. Your feet feel so free, it's like walking around barefoot. And yet, they have enough protection and traction so you can run without them flying off. Imagine being able to run, barefoot, without worrying about getting your feet injured or dirty. [because that's what happens when you walk without shoes. and dirty feet are gross] Under jeans, they are perfectly classy. And in Portland, you will probably even find me wearing them with a skirt. Happy feet = happy people. [and i should know, because i have cute feet]

I wish I could send the world crocs in an envelope with a Batman stamp.

double-date-monday...

On Monday night, after a lovely time playing in the Sandy River and catching some sun, we stopped singing long enough to realize that we were very, very hungry. Can't you see it in our eyes?

Miss Emma and I made the Olive Garden that much classier. Can you guess which one of us brushed her hair and brought semi-nice clothes to change into? And which one of us didn't? (camera phone credits to mr. andrew-ness)

Please Note: I believe that this is the first picture in existence which showcases my newly modified tresses. It does actually look different in person, I promise.

christmas in july...

My family's outrageous travel schedule requires us to take Christmas card pictures in July. As you can imagine, the process requires about 7,000 pictures. Someone is either goofing off, blinking, or self-vetoes it with "ugh, no, i look f*t." Here are a few of the keepers.
